Marquis Theatre & Cafe Reviews
This is the only theatre I have ever been to that has a full bar. Also, the energy in the bar area is always great. They play music and the staff is friendly. They also love to make tacos and burritos! Such a plus to have real food before a movie. Love this place.
We had a great experience watching puss in boots. Went on a Tuesday at 3:15 , paid matinee pricing. We got a small popcorn with butter. But they also have a cafe in the back and you can also purchase food and drinks . My husband got himself an oatmeal stout that he enjoyed with the movie. There are only two theater rooms. The seats were really comfortable . was surprised to see so many people attend the show on a Tuesday at 3:15 pm, so come earlier if you want prime seating.
Popped in here to see the newest Spider-Man movie as it was somewhat on the way to Killington. We bought our tickets online and I'm glad we did as it was sold out! Staff is super nice and they have a small food stand that sells snacks and such for not too much money. It's a small theater, but as Nathan N. wrote, the rooms are close which makes it easy to navigate. The room where we watched the movie was small and intimate, which would be great to rent out for a party. The seats were comfy and cleanish, and the picture was clear. I haven't been to the movies in a while, but I enjoyed watching Spider-Man here the other day. After the movie, there wasn't a huge line to the rest room, which is always a plus for me. We parked on a side street close to the theater. There are a few spots on the street as well. Be sure to wear your mask, book your ticket online, and have fun!
As a Middlebury College student who loves culture, it should be no surprise that I have been here on several occasions to catch the latest films. "Get Out," "Black Panther," "Zootopia," "Crazy Rich Asians"... I have seen plenty of big name box office movies here, though options tend to be very limited (the place appears to have only two screening rooms). Living in Middlebury does not grant you that many options for movies, but that's okay considering that the Marquis still consistently has the newest movies in circulation, albeit for a shorter amount of time (meaning your window of opportunity is narrower). With the small size of the theater, the placement of everything becomes more straightforward which is nice. Restrooms are right next to the concession stand, which is next to the entrance to the screen rooms. Pretty simple, right? Aside from the traditional foldable theater chairs with cup holders, the Marquis makes its visitors feel extra comfortable by having couch seating closer to the screen. You can cozy up with your friends on the couch while catching the latest blockbusters. That is such a small town thing.
I watched the Barbie movie here! Staff have great energy and I love the kitschy carpet. Popcorn was yummy and I enjoyed the show. Buy your tickets ahead online to avoid disappointment: popular movies will sell-out!
